The Jesselton Hotel is a city-centre heritage stay on Gaya Street. Built in 1954, it’s known for its classic character, warm service, and an easy location for exploring Kota Kinabalu.
Built in 1954, The Jesselton Hotel is recognised as Kota Kinabalu’s first hotel built after the Second World War. The hotel was developed on what was then 69 Bond Street, now Gaya Street, with Hong Kong architects and craftsmen and design influence from 1940s Hong Kong architecture.
A major renovation in 1989 introduced the hotel’s colonial façade, added a lift, and expanded guestrooms. Today, The Jesselton remains a comfortable heritage stay in the heart of Kota Kinabalu.
